Mother Of 5-Year-Old Found Dead In Suitcase Held Without Bond

An Atlanta mother, Dejaune Anderson, has been ordered held without bond in connection to the death of her 5-year-old son, Cairo Ammar Jordan. The boy's body was tragically found in a suitcase in Indiana in 2022 by a mushroom hunter.

Anderson, 38, faces charges of murder, neglect, and obstruction of justice. During her initial court appearance, she made unusual claims of being under federal surveillance for several months prior to her arrest.

She asserted that she had been monitored by the NSA and even had a detail from the Space Force following her every move. However, the judge, Larry Medlock, stated that the issue of bond would be revisited if confirmation from Space Force was provided.

Anderson's next court date is set for April 25, with a tentative trial date scheduled for August. The autopsy revealed that Cairo died from vomiting and diarrhea, leading to dehydration. Investigators estimated that the boy had passed away about a week before his body was discovered.

Another woman, Dawn Coleman, 41, from Shreveport, Louisiana, was also charged in connection to the case. She reached a plea deal with prosecutors in November and was sentenced to 30 years in prison with five years suspended to probation.
