A Motability vehicle has been seized after officers catch disqualified and uninsured driver behind the wheel. Members of Derbyshire Roads Policing unit stopped the vehicle in Shirebrook, close to the Nottinghamshire border of Mansfield and Warsop, after recieving intelligence that it had been leased to a disqualified driver by the Motability Scheme.
Officers found that it was not the expected driver behind the wheel, but a friend who was reportedly disqualified, uninsured and failed a drugs wipe for cannabis. The vehicle has been seized and officers also noted the poor condition of the tyres.
On Twitter Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit stated: "Intel led stop of this one due to it having been leased to a disqualified driver by @MotabilityOps. Unfortunately not them driving but in a twist of fate it was a friend driving who was also disqualified, uninsured and failed a @DrugWipeUK for cannabis.
"Tried hooky details to start with but couldn't answer the probing questions. Vehicle seized and hopefully not being returned by @MotabilityOps The state of the tyres shows the complete lack of respect shown by the person leading this."
