Data from Slot Buzz shows that, after the launch of the PlayStation 5 back in 2020, the PlayStation 4 is the most popular gaming console in the second hand market with 13,000 used consoles sold recently. It is closely followed by the Nintendo DS, which was first released in 2005 in the UK, with 12,000 sold second-hand in the last 90 days.
The rest of the top five second-hand consoles is made up of the Nintendo Switch (11,000 sold), Xbox one (9,100 sold), and Nintendo Gameboy (8,400).
For the most sold second-hand games, Minecraft, first released in 2009, was the popular, with 5,700 sold in the last 90 days. The result isn't surprising, as Minecraft frequently ranks among the top best-selling games of all time.
It's closely followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, which was released in the same year as Minecraft, with 5,500 sold, and then Grand Theft Auto V, with 4,500 sold. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which was originally released for the Wii U in 2014 but is now available on the Nintendo Switch, is ranked fourth, with 3,300 sold.
In the number five spot, Red Dead Redemption II, the hugely anticipated second instalment to Red Dead Redemption (released in 2004) had 2,600 sold in in the last 90 days.
