After parents make the big decision to have a child, one of the next biggest decisions they have to make is what to name their baby.
Like the clothes on our backs, names go in and out of fashion, so prospective parents are looking out to make sure their baby doesn't end up with a dated name.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) releases the most popular baby names for girls and boys across the US.
SSA data can also be broken down state by state, so parents can see the most popular names in their area.
Looking at the data for girl names, Olivia was a name that appeared again and again. It was the most popular name in 34 of the 50 US states.
For the boys, on the other hand, Liam was very popular; number one in 20 states.
Some girl names were far more exclusive. Ava was the top name in just one state - Mississippi. The same was for Emma (Kentucky) and Mia (New Mexico).
For boys, there was a smaller amount of variation. Three states had Henry as the most popular name while four had William.
According to the SSA website: "They base their database on applications for Social Security card as of March 2022."
