It is unclear if a statue of Dwayne Johnson has seen a ghost, but the colour has certainly drained from its face.
The Grévin Museum in Paris has become the laughing stock of the internet after unveiling a bust of the black/Samoan actor which looks, well, white. And it is not for a race reversed sequel to his recent film Black Adam.
“First day for Dwayne Johnson in Grévin, already in the spotlight with our visitors,” the museum, which is a French equivalent of Madame Tussauds, said in reference on its Instagram page.
The sculpture has captured the impressive physique of the former wrestler and has included his shaved dome and tattoos but fans have commented that it should be at least a few shades darker.
“Bro is white,” Alex Watts said in response.
Veronique Battistella added: “Sorry but he doesn't look much like The Rock but more like Mr Clean.”
“Not one of your best guys – considering the quality of the rest of the museum, there’s something not right about the sculpt on this,” James Denton said.
The Grévin might choose to take the statue down, cash in on the negative publicity, or even give it a spray tan. But it is far from alone when it comes to celebrity busts that are so bad they’re hilarious. Here are some other examples.
Cristiano Ronaldo

Madeira Airport revealed its statue of the Portuguese footballer in 2017 but it was instantly panned for looking more like former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise.
The man himself attended a ceremony for the unveiling at what was renamed the Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport. Emanuel Santos designed the bronze bust but it has since been replaced with another design.
Ed Sheeran

The singer-songwriter has been self-deprecating about his image in the past, even quipping on a song that he was not someone “you would want to see shirtless”. However, even if he was drunk again he would hope to not resemble the pasty, worse for wear and dehydrated looking bust that was unveiled at the Panoptikum in Hamburg.
Beyonce

Sometimes the best can get it wrong. Madame Tussauds, that is, not the queen of RnB.
Perhaps Beyonce’s features are hard to nail, but on more than one occasion fans have been disappointed with how a model of the star has turned out.
Ariana Grande
To be fair to designers, there have been some knock-out versions of the singer created but one infamous design did not do justice to her emotional return to Manchester.
And, finally, David Beckham

Beckham was visiting the US when a statue was being dedicated to celebrate his time at the LA Galaxy football team. However, James Corden took over a dress rehearsal and presented Becks with a deliberately bad looking statue that showed the England legend as cross eyed, with a huge bum and an arm span of a jet plane.
