People might be surprised to know that… I’ve become a bit of a tennis buff. I got into it this year because I wanted to do something to get fit. I’m trying to improve, so I’ve started getting coaching lessons. I get really fed up with myself if I lose, which I tend to do an awful lot a the moment!
My perfect evening consists of… getting my pyjamas on, having some picky food and a nice bottle of wine and watching all of the Harry Potter films from the beginning.
The one thing I’d change about myself is… my vitiligo. I love the sun, but I can’t spend time in it.
If I could pass any law… I would help families who suffer when their loved ones have to go into a home and they end up having to sell the family house to be able to pay for it. I think that’s disgusting and I think we need to look after our elderly. We really do need to find a way for it to be affordable.
The best thing my dad taught me was… when you think you’re going to give up, just keep going. He used to say to me, “You’re a Fielding! Come on, you can do this.”
My last holiday was… to Kefalonia a few years ago. We love it there so much. We even considered buying a house on the island, so I was quite relieved we decided not to when Covid hit. Because of my vitiligo, I stay in the shade. I look a strange oddity when I’m there. I’m like a Victorian lady, head to toe in white linen with a white umbrella, a hat and plastered in white sun cream.
The first single I ever bought was… Darts by Duke Of Earl. I’m a massive music fan. I’m obsessed. And get this, I’m always so proud to say it, my son William is now married to Lucy Walsh, who’s the daughter of the Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh.
I’m currently reading… Miss Austen: A Novel Of The Austen Sisters by Gill Hornby. I read a lot, but weirdly enough, I don’t read or
watch anything to do with the paranormal. It frightens the life out of me! Because if I then have to go and do an investigation, it will mess with my mind.
The best day of my life so far was… there have been too many to choose from! I’ve been really lucky. I’ve had so many amazing days – and they definitely outweigh the bad.
