ScotRail have issued a warning to train passengers ahead of strike action in October.
Industrial action has been confirmed for October which will 'significantly disruption' Edinburgh Waverley services as trains across the country will come to a halt. A number of strike days have been announced with different unions, but while ScotRail aren't associated with most of them, there will be a serious knock-on-effect.
In an email to customers, the train firm warned of 'significant disruption' due to the upcoming strikes and urged them to only travel if necessary and plan ahead.

The first RMT and Network Rail strike day to impact ScotRail services falls on October 1, with the second on October 8. Another RMT strike has also been announced on October 10 due to a dispute with ScotRail. A limited amount of trains will run with the last train operating until 6.30pm.
ScotRail said: "RMT has announced further national strike action across the Great Britain railway network in a dispute with Network Rail and other train operating companies.
"This means Network Rail members of the RMT will be taking part in 24-hour strike action on Saturdays, October 1 and 8.
"The planned strikes on these days will cause disruption to ScotRail services, as Network Rail Scotland signallers and maintenance staff, who are in safety-critical roles, will be on strike."
They add: There will also be some disruption the evenings before (Fridays, October, 30 September and October 7) and the mornings after (Sundays,2 and 9 October), caused by the closing and re-opening of signal boxes at different times throughout the day.
"As there will be very limited services running, please only travel if necessary. If you have to travel, you should expect disruption and plan ahead."
This means the majority of trains will be cancelled on Saturday and the following Saturday. A skeleton number of services are running but only through the central belt, leaving the rest of Scotland without.
Trains to places including Dundee, Stirling, Aberdeen, Inverness and North Berwick will be cancelled amongst others.

The routes below are the only ScotRail services to run this and next Saturday. They will only be able to operate the following services between 7:30am and 18:30am. A revised timetable for October 10 remains to be confirmed.
- Edinburgh – Glasgow via Falkirk High: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh – Helensburgh: two trains per hour
- Glasgow – Hamilton/Larkhall: two trains per hour
- Glasgow – Lanark: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh – Glasgow via Shotts: one train per hour
- Edinburgh – Cowdenbeath: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh – Tweedbank: two trains per hour
- Edinburgh - Larbert: one train per hour
- Glasgow Queen St – Larbert: one train per hour
- Glasgow Queen St – Falkirk Grahamston: one train per hour
- Milngavie – Springburn: two trains per hour
