Most and least expensive houses sold on Merseyside

The most expensive homes on Merseyside have been revealed, with the luxury properties fetching between £800,000 and £2m.

The data was collected for the three months to June 2022, the latest available period for house prices in the region.

The top ten most expensive features a good mix of dwellings from across the whole region; topping the list is a detached house on Caldy Road in the Wirral which went for a whopping £2m.

It was followed by a £1.35m home on Victoria Road in Formby and a £1.15m detached dwelling on Allerton Road in south Liverpool.

Homes on the Wirral made up half the most expensive properties. Another on Caldy Road sold for £1.13m, alongside a £947,000 house on Lingdale Road in West Kirby, Kenmar in Heswall - which sold for £860,000 - and a property on Pipers Lane, also in Heswall, which went for £846,000.

Elsewhere, a home went on Cambridge Road in Southport was sold for £895,000 and in St Helens, homes on Springfield Lane and Higher Lane went for £817,500 and £800,000 respectively.

At the other end of the scale in Speke, a terraced house on Tarbock Road was scooped up for £26,250.

The least expensive list also features properties from across the region; a flat on Rutter Street near the city centre was sold for £36,500, while another flat on Hoghton Street in Southport sold for £37,000.

In Birkenhead, the cheapest properties went for £39,500 - a terraced home on Wycherley Road - along with two properties on Old Chester Road, which sold for £45,625 apiece.

On Cambridge Road in Southport - which also features on the most expensive list - a flat was sold for £42,000 and another flat on Slim Road in Knowsley went for £44,000.

Back in Liverpool, a house on Park Lane in Netherton sold for £47,500 alongside one in L4 on Euston Street, which was snapped up for £49,000.

Average house prices across the UK increased by 12.8% over the year to May 2022, up from 11.9% in April 2022, according to the most recent figures from the Office for National Statistics.
