Moskito Bath Street: look inside as iconic bar opens its doors today for first time in years

It's been a long time coming, but Moskito on Bath Street is finally opening its doors today.

The iconic Bath Street venue closed in 2018 after 18 years of operating. Although the bar was ready since its refit for a year, the pandemic again interrupted plans to reopen.

Now, it's back - with an almost unrecognisable look.

The site has been extended and now includes a live DJ booth, a 'Monkey Room' separate area which is available to hire, and a new menu of small and sharing plates.

Small details include huge floral arrangements with stargazer lilly's, custom art on the walls, and a jungle nature theme outside in the seating area.

The menu includes small plates, the likes of caramel chicken, king prawns, mango noodle salads and patatas bravas.

There also includes a new cocktail menu, including SOS Margaritas with custom flavour smoke bubbles and a reconstructed strawberry daiquiri alongside the classics.

If they could, what stories would they tell us? (Carla Jenkins)

Neon signs emblazon the walls, saying 'if only these walls could talk...' a nod to the last year, and 'the beat goes on', capturing the Glasgow spirit despite the last year.

The bathroom has a huge neon heart, which is an instagrammers fave.

We even did a walk around in a Facebook live, which you can watch here.

Ben McLeod General Manager commented: “We are absolutely delighted to finally open today after being ready for almost a year.

"The refurbishment was a huge project and we are so proud of what we have achieved and we are now ready to make our mark in Glasgow.

"We are fully booked all weekend long which is fantastic. We are incredibly encouraged by the response so far from customers both old and new."
