Moses Moody is growing frustrated with limited Warriors role

According to Joe Dumas of 95.7 “The Game,” Moses Moody‘s camp is growing frustrated with his lack of a consistent role for the Golden State Warriors. Moody has ridden the bench for the Warriors’ last three games and is often in and out of the rotation as he struggles to earn a consistent spot within Steve Kerr‘s program.

However, Dumas did note how the third-year wing is still happy in the Bay Area and enjoys playing for Golden State. Moody has played in 31 games this season, averaging 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game, shooting 47.7% from the field and 33% from 3-point range.

“The people around Moses are frustrated with the lack of a role and consistency,” Dumas said. “He’s in the rotation one day. He’s out of the rotation one day. For the lack of a better term, he almost seems like the sacrificial lamb so to speak. Whenever there’s a logjam, he’s gonna be the guy that falls out. From what I’ve been told, Moses loves playing in the Bay Area and he loves playing for the Warriors…I think it’s understandable that someone in his position with a lot of talent, young, would be frustrated and would want a clear path to playing time. Either here, or somewhere else.”

Golden State has now been rocked by complaints from two of their younger talents in the last 24 hours. On Friday (Jan. 5) Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Jonathan Kuminga had lost faith in Steve Kerr following being benched for the final 18 minutes of Golden State’s loss to the Denver Nuggets.

It would appear the Warriors’ attempt to straddle two timelines is becoming increasingly difficult. As such, Mike Dunleavy Jr. might have to decide which path forward he wants to take. However, it’s unlikely that the decision will occur before the end of the season.
