Mortiz Jenz handed Celtic debut praise as Ange Postecoglou hails 'dominant' Rolls Royce defender

Ange Postecoglou admits he was delighted with Celtic's performance in Dingwall as he hailed debut boy Moritz Jenz.

The Hoops' summer recruit was handed his first start and appearance for his new club at the heart of the defence alongside ever-present Cameron Carter-Vickers as the Scottish champions grabbed two late goals to make it two wins from two in the league. Kyogo Furuhashi's opener was pegged bag by Alex Iacovitti but goals from Jenz and Liel Abada made sure the points headed back to Glasgow. Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Postecoglou said: "Yeah very happy with the result but more importantly the performance.

"It is a difficult place to come too but I thought the players were outstanding today, controlling the game and minimising their threats. We obviously got challenged in the second half when they scored but our response was excellent and we fully deserved the victory and really pleased with the performance."

On debut Bhoy Jenz, he added: "It was great [his debut]. His overall performance was really good. He is fitting in really well with the group and training really well.

"I was happy to give him his opportunity today. I felt him and Cam [Cameron Carter-Vickers] had a different kind of game where they didn't get challenged too much defensively.

"But I thought he was very good. Great for him to get his goal, dominant in the air and hopefully the first of many."

Next up for Celtic is an away clash against Premiership new boys Kilmarnock before Hearts make the trip to Parkhead.
