Morrisons has revealed it will close 17 daily convenience stores, including the Featherbed Lane branch in Croydon, from Wednesday, April 16.
The closures come as the supermarket giant announces several moves to “reinvigorate” the company, enabling money to be invested in other areas.
Morrisons said in March it would close other stores, including 52 cafes, 18 Market Kitchens, 35 meat counters, 13 florists, 35 fish counters and four pharmacies.
Chief executive Rami Baitieh said Morrisons was trading in “a challenging environment” and that the savings target would “help us offset cost headwinds, invest for customers and remain competitive in a fast-changing market”.
Morrisons is the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket chain, behind Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda, according to European Supermarket magazine. It employs about 95,000 staff nationwide.
Three-hundred-and-sixty-five staff members are at risk of redundancy, according to the Sun. Luke Charters, Labour MP for York Outer, called the news “sad for those who rely on these services for their jobs and daily needs”,
Meanwhile, Morrisons has reported that its sales jumped to £4 billion in its most recent quarter. The company said it had accrued £56 million in savings during the period and raised its long-term savings goal from £700m to £1bn.
The rise in sales came despite a complex cyber attack before Christmas, which disrupted the availability of Morrisons' products well into January.

All will close on Wednesday, April 16, apart from Haxby, which will close on Wednesday, May 14.
Eleven Morrisons stores had post offices inside, which will be closed on different dates.
"We fully recognise the inconvenience this will cause for our customers and apologise for the short notification as these branches close between 9 April and 14 May,” the company said.
