Morrisons slashes fuel by 5p-a-litre for shoppers who spend £40 in store - but not for long

Shoppers will be able to get 5p off every litre of fuel at Morrisons - if they spend £40 in store.

Customers will receive a coupon to save money on fuel after spending the £40. The promotion is valid until Sunday, October 9, the supermarket said.

The coupon is redeemable at all of Morrisons 339 petrol stations - excluding any franchised Morrisons Daily petrol stations - and people have until Sunday, October 16, to spend it, reports The Mirror.

The required £40 customer spend, however, excludes the following items: Fuel, Tobacco, Lottery products, Morrisons Café, Gift Vouchers & Cards, Infant/Formula Milk, Cash Back, Dry Cleaning, Fireworks, Online Games and Instant Tickets, Photo Printing, Saver Stamps, Postage Stamps, ‘Top-Up’ Mobile Phone Cards, Delivery Charges/Pass, Garden Centre & Pharmacy.

In addition to the fuel deal, Morrisons has also reduced the prices on 150 of its most popular products. The savings include cupboard staples such as chopped tomatoes and baked beans, as well as everyday essentials like bread and toilet roll - with shoppers able to save 14% on average.

Customers will also save cash on fresh meat including chicken breasts and mince, as well as fruit and vegetables. Freezer favourites such as fish fingers, chips and pizzas are included in the new price initiative as well.

Rachel Eyre, chief customer and marketing officer at Morrisons, said: "Fuel prices are one of the biggest expenses people across the UK are facing as the cost of living increases. We want to help our customers save money wherever we can and hope this offer can help make budgets go a little further."
