Morrisons shoppers rush to buy iconic holiday snack from childhood and stock up

Shoppers are rushing to Morrisons to pick up an iconic holiday snack in a bid to stock up.

Certain food and drinks can take you right back to a favourite holiday. For some it might be a chilled citrus drink, for some it could be a big bowl of garlic mussels and others it could be Lays. Viral posts on social media often refer back to a romanticised memory of a holiday of lying next to a pool with a packet of Lays and Fanta Lemon .

And now you can have bring that memory home as shoppers have spotted Lays being sold in Morrisons in the UK. NewsFoodUK posted on Facebook a photo of them holding a packet of BBQ flavour Lays in the supermarket aisle, simply adding: "Barbecue Lays are now available at Morrisons", while adding a shocked face emoji.

The post quickly accumulated 4.4k likes and a whopping 8.2k comments as thousands tagged their friends and family. Many said they plan on stocking up.

A Lay fan replied: "I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY!! Haven’t had these since we came home from America. I don’t know how many bags is socially acceptable to buy at once."

Another said: "I was going to buy some more on Amazon. We're off to Morrisons tomorrow to get one million bags!"

One bragged: "Bagged my self some."

"Got em yesterday," a second said.

One said: "These were my favourite when I was in school. Hope more shops start selling them!"

Meanwhile another interjected: "And there was me going all the way to Vegas and buying some."

"Love these always get when we are in Turkey," one praised the crisps.

But one shopper hit back: "Why does everyone rave about Lays? Because you see it on TikTok where someone paints the picture of warm summer nights by the pool drinking a Vodka Fanta Lemon and eating Lays?

"They’re literally the same as the Walkers crisps you get back home.. Same company, same manufacturing process.."
