Morrisons shoppers praise 'Ask for Sandy' free and discreet period product service

Morrisons shoppers have flocked to a popular bargain sharing Facebook group to praise the supermarket's 'Ask for Sandy' service.

On the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, one member posted: "Popped into Morrisons yesterday and needed the loo - seen this on the back of the toilet door. I love this - so wanted to share."

The note says: "Please don't feel shy or embarrassed - if you are in need or struggling for sanitary products go to our customer service kiosk and ask for a package that SANDY has left for you.

"You will then be given a FREE discreet envelope with what you need no questions asked."

Over 500 people have now liked the post with hundreds leaving comments praising the scheme.

One wrote: "I used this one time it was amazing you get what you need plus a bar of chocolate and a cuppa tea it really lifted my spirits in kindness."

Another added: "Its a fab idea, for young women or overly shy, and there are times you are caught out, and you just don't have enough on you to buy them.

The scheme has been rolled out at Morrisons stores UK-wide.

In a bid to tackle period poverty, the supermarket is offering shoppers free tampons and sanitary pads if they ask for Sandy at any of their customer service kiosks.
