Morrisons shoppers left divided over 'UK first' frozen toaster waffles

When it comes to snacks there are a lot to chose from - sometimes too much.

And whether you're in the mood for savoury or sweet, there's usually an option for everyone.

However when it comes to dietary restrictions, it can be more difficult to enjoy the foods you love without compromising on the taste and texture.

Thankfully veggie and vegan foods are getting better and better, to the point fake chicken actually tastes like the real deal.

But one item that everyone loves is waffles and if you need to stick to a plant-based diet, you'll be glad to know Morrisons are now selling vegan waffles - and they're only a few quid.

Taking to Food Finds UK and Snack Reviews, one shopper shared her latest find. The Griddle Wholegrain Chocolate Chip Waffles - pictured below - are currently on sale for just £2 and come in a pack of 6.

And better yet, they're less than 100 calories.

There are other flavours to chose from such as plain and blueberry but the favourite seems to be chocolate chip.

According to Grocery Trader, "Griddle’s range of frozen waffles are the UK’s first and only vegan waffle. Designed for the toaster and ready to eat in less than 2 mins, they are the first product range of their kind. Not only are they HFSS compliant, they contain 40% less sugar than the average waffle, are made using 100% natural ingredients and contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. True to Griddle’s vision that frozen is the future, the waffles offer zero food waste."

Responding to the original post one said: "I bought a box of these and the original ones the other day I was so disappointed they are not has thick has they look on the box…and they taste awful.

Another commented: "The concept sounds unreal but I bet they’re about as good as the Aldi 'Big Mac'."

A third added: "I'm definitely going Morrisons now May need a truck to bring everything home."
