Morrisons shopper shares tip to get up to £20 off your next shop

A Morrisons customer has revealed how shoppers can get up to £20 off the cost of their groceries.

With the cost of living growing ever higher, households across Scotland are looking for ways to cut back on everyday costs. One big expense is food shopping.

That is why the customer shared details of Morrisons' new Basket Bonus scheme. The promotion is available to shoppers with a digital My Morrisons card, and allows them to get money off of their groceries.

According to the Morrisons website, a Basket Bonus "offers customers with an opportunity to unlock a basket bonus app offer when you swipe your digital My Morrisons Card within a promotional period".

To make use of a Basket Bonus, you must scan your My Morrisons digital card — upon doing so you may receive a Basket Bonus offer. Not all purchases will be rewarded with a Basket Bonus, but if they do, you will receive a notification and once unlocked it will appear in the 'My Offers' section of the app.

The thrifty shopper was quick to share the news online with others. Writing in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, they said: "Just for anyone who has a Morrisons card. They’ve just updated their My Morrisons app.

"So if you haven’t updated it yet please do so. I popped in there yesterday to get a couple of bits and then I got an alert on my phone saying about a basket bonus.

"1st one I’ve had and I have £20 off my next shop. No minimum spend so will be going back and keep zapping the cad for all different money off. Well worth it."

Since being shared, the post has received over 230 likes and more than 140 comments. Morrisons shoppers and bargain hunters alike were quick to share their thoughts.

"Thank You, I'll have a look," one wrote, while a second said: "Aww I'll do mine."

Other Facebook users shared what discounts they have received through the app so far.

One wrote: "I got £5 of my next order."

"Lucky you I got 20 per cent of crisps and I don’t even buy blooming crisps," a second user vented.

A third revealed: "Awww wish I got that one, mines just 20 per cent off my next juice purchase".

"Mine was 20 per cent off all packed meats," commented a fourth.
