Morrisons prints 'important' message to every customer on receipts

Morrisons customers have applauded the supermarket for a message it has printed on its receipts.

One shopper spotted that the retailer had included an "important note" in their receipt for people experiencing domestic abuse, and was quick to spread the news online.

They shared an image of the receipt, which includes the message: "Help is available if you're experiencing domestic abuse Call Refuge's National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 200 247 Download the Brightsky app."

Taking to Facebook, the customer wrote: "Not a bargain or vaguely shopping related but so important for those who need it. Well done Morrisons."

It wasn't long before the post had received over 1,400 likes and more than 50 comments. Most shoppers were quick to applaud the supermarket for including the message.

One wrote: "This is brilliant more awareness needs spreading to show there is help out there. I didn't think the level of help I've had was available."

A second shared: "Imagine someone doesn't shop at Morrisons and see this post & it helps them please if anybody is going through this get help!"

"Well done Morrisons," a third simply said, while a fourth posted: "That’s fantastic. Well done."

"Such a little thing that could be huge to someone in need," argued a fifth.

"They have that in the female toilets as well," a sixth stated, while a seventh commented: "Great to hear".

Other shoppers shared different companies that were doing similar things, with one writing: "Tescos have this on there’s to since the start of the pandemic they also offer safe spaces."

A second said: "Also HSBC is helping with DV and providing safe spaces, particularly if financial abuse is also involved. My friend runs a DV group and has been talking to the local branches about how they can help."
