Feeding the whole family while sticking to a budget can certainly seem difficult at times - and with the current cost of living crisis, a simple family meal out can feel like an expense some families can't afford.
Which is exactly why Morrisons has come to the rescue by announcing a major change to all their menus across Scotland - and it will make them cheaper than some of the country's biggest lunch spots.
The UK supermarket chain has introduced their 'Meal Of The Day' offer on a range of teatime favourites priced at under a fiver throughout the entire week.
The deal will be available every weekday from 3pm onwards and it will see a 'Daily Special' item on the menu discounted, offering savvy shoppers a £3.89 saving. It means that families who are trying to stick to a budget at the moment can still enjoy the luxury of heading out for a family meal that doesn't involve cooking at home.
The money-saving weekday offer is now available in all cafes nationwide and it will include a different meal to be discounted during the week.
It means that customers can choose from a range of family favourites, such as British roast chicken served with chips and coleslaw, a hearty chicken tikka masala, a 9-piece breakfast brunch, a succulent British cheeseburger served with chips and coleslaw and the ultimate beer-battered fish and chips. The offer includes a drink and vegetarian alternatives are also available.
All meals will be priced at just £4.99, which makes their menu offerings cheaper than the likes of a trip to Wetherspoons, The Beefeater and The Harvester.
Morrisons 'Meal Of The Day' offer has arrived just in time for the summer holidays, as families across Scotland will be looking for ways to spend time together while on a budget.
And the new midweek dinner meal is not the only way Morrisons are helping Scots dine out for less this summer, as kids can now eat free all day with the purchase of any adult meal - meaning a family of four can enjoy a meal out together for just £9.98.
Ali Lyons, Head of Morrisons Cafés, says: “We know how hard it is for our customers at the moment and we want to make sure they are still able to enjoy a meal out, even on a budget. We’ve handpicked these favourites so that no matter what day it is, our customers can enjoy a saving.”
Here are all the 'Daily Specials' that will be on offer throughout the week;
- Monday - Roast Chicken served with Chips & Coleslaw or Cheese & Onion Quiche served with Chips & Coleslaw
- Tuesday - Chicken Tikka Masala or Mac ‘n’ Cheese
- Wednesday - Breakfast Brunch or Full Vegetarian Breakfast
- Thursday - Cheeseburger served with chips and coleslaw or vegetarian burger served with chips and coleslaw
- Friday - Ultimate Fish & Chips
Morrisons £4.99 offer will be available in its 406 cafés nationwide after 3pm every weekday.
