Morrisons launches 50% off toy sale with discounts on Peppa Pig and Super Mario

Morrisons shoppers could save 50% on presents this Christmas with the supermarket's mega toy sale.

Parents can find must-have toys for up to half price including popular L.O.L. Dolls, Super Mario Kart, Peppa Pig and Hotwheels.

The supermarket giant has launched the sale at 423 of its stores with offers available while stocks last.

Examples include the Peppa Pig's Wooden Playhouse which is currently half price at £52.50.

The wooden house comes with Peppa and George figures while each room is kitted out with fun features, furniture and accessories for kids.

Parents of budding fashionistas can get the Shimmer ‘n Sparkle InstaGlam On The Glo Makeup Trolley for just £47.50, down from £95.00.

While young beauty fans can get their hands on the Rainbow High Fashion Studio with 50% off at £30.

Top selling brands are also included in the bargain sale including a Barbie Pet Supply Store and Radio Control Car – both with a £26.50 price tag, saving over a third.

Also with a third off, the popular Play-Doh Colourful Cafe Playset currently on sale for £33.

But before you go spending, you should still compare prices to make sure you can't get a cheaper deal elsewhere.

Remember as well, just because something is in the sale, it doesn't mean it is always a bargain.

Morrisons toy buyer David Catton said: “We know that customers are under real financial pressure at the moment and want to help them when it comes to their Christmas shopping.

"We’re reducing the price of our toys now to help customers spread the cost of the festive season and tick off some important jobs."

Morrisons isn't the only supermarket to announce a toy sale just before Christmas - Tesco has also started offering up to 50% off gifts.

However, there is a catch, as customers will need one thing to be able to benefit from the sale.

Like many other discounts and deals at Tesco, shoppers will need to make sure they have a Clubcard in order to enjoy the heavily reduced toy prices.

It comes as the price of everyday food items has risen after inflation hit a 40-year high of 9.9%.

Morrisons is among major retailers to have introduced new offers in a bid to help households feeling the pinch.

Earlier this year, it announced one of its biggest price cuts in recent years with prices cut by an average 13% on more than 500 products.

This included cupboard staples such as coffee, rice and baked beans.

They also reduced the price of a quarter of their own brand products such as 1kg of Morrisons British chicken wings, costing £1.75 instead of £2.80.

The supermarket also added more than 180 extra products into its promotions including a buy two for £1.80 cereals deal.
