Morrisons has confirmed that it has plans to stock the sought-after Prime Hydration drink.
The supermarket giant does not yet have a date for when the drinks will begin appearing on shelves. The news, which was first reported by The Grocer, stated that Sainsbury's may also begin stocking Prime in the near future, however this has not yet been confirmed.
“We are looking to bring Prime into stores,” a Morrisons spokesman told the trade publication on February 15.
The confirmation comes after Twitter account Prime Tracker shared screenshots which showed Prime in both the Sainsbury's and Morrisons internal stocking systems.
A tweet posted by the account read: "Just confirmed it's in Morrison's internal stock system - it doesn't appear to be as far along as Sainsbury's though.
"This also doesn't mean they're stocking it anytime soon - keep in mind it's been in Tesco's system since June last year."
The Prime Tracker Twitter account and phone app keeps social media users updated on where and when Prime will be stocked in the UK. It has been endorsed by the company's co-owner Olajide Olatunji - better known as KSI.
KSI said in a YouTube video: "Any parents watching, this is a good app to try and find Prime"
Prime has previously been stocked in Asda, Aldi and Spar. In December of last year, Scots shoppers queued outside of Aldi stores to get their hands on the viral sports drink.
The company was first launched earlier in 2022 and is available in the UK and the United States. When approached for comment Morrison's spokesperson confirmed their plans to stock Prime to the Daily Record, and added that dates are still to be confirmed.
The Daily Record has contacted Sainsbury's for comment.
