Morocco is gearing up to end its international flight ban after three months of restrictions.
The country first announced a suspension of all flights in and out of Morocco back in November, amidst fears over rising numbers of Omicron cases.
The ban was originally due to last a few weeks, but subsequent extensions have seen it currently in place until January 31.
Now the authorities are preparing to lift the flight ban on February 7, although it's not yet confirmed what entry rules could be put in place for visitors.
The country's official news agency MAP reported that a government statement had confirmed the news. It added that authorities are reportedly "examining the measures to be adopted at border crossings and the conditions required for travelers, which will be announced later".

As the ban has been in place for all international visitors, it's likely that when it is lifted, Brits will be able to once again travel to the country, restrictions allowing.
According to Reuters data, in the last seven days Morocco has reported 115 Covid infections per 100,000 people, 62% of its peak.
Under the current rules, all flights and ferry services in and out of Morocco are suspended until January 31.
According to the UK Foreign Office: "The UK Government is not arranging repatriation flights as special commercial flights to a number of EU countries, including Spain, France, Belgium and Italy, continue in the period ahead and tickets are available for purchase on the airlines’ websites (for example, Air France, Transavia, and Royal Air Maroc).
"We strongly encourage British travellers to check airline websites and to make bookings direct with the airline for flights to Europe and onward connections to the UK. No permission from any Embassy or government is required by British travellers to purchase these tickets."

UK travellers' holiday options are increasing, with more and more countries opening to Brits for non-essential travel including France, Spain, Greece, Turkey, the USA and other popular spots.
There are some where you don't need Covid tests if you're vaccinated, and others that don't require Covid tests at all.
Meanwhile, the UK's own travel rules are set to change in February, for anyone arriving into the UK from abroad.
From 4am on February 11, rules are changing for both vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers.
For vaccinated travellers, Covid tests on day two will be axed, meaning when returning from abroad you'll simply have to fill out a pre-travel passenger locator form.
For unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers, there will no longer be a requirement to self-isolate for 10 days, or take a day eight Covid test. Instead, you'll need to fill out the passenger locator form pre-travel, take a pre-departure Covid test, and a post-arrival test.
