Moritz Jenz confirms Celtic transfer exit as loan defender hails 'Mr Postecoglou' in heartfelt message

Moritz Jenz has thanked the Celtic fans for their support as he saw his time at Parkhead come to an end.

The German defender was brought in on loan by Ange Postecoglou in the summer and initially found plenty of game time in league and Champions League action. Due to the absence of Carl Starfelt, Jenz was on hand to steady the ship at the back and even scored on his Celtic debut against Ross County.

But the 23-year-old hasn't featured for Postecoglou's men since November, and with the arrival of Yuki Kobayashi this month pushing the Lorient loanee further down the pecking order in Glasgow. It was reported this week that Jenz would return to France before a potential move to the Bundesliga with Schalke and the centre-half confirmed the news with a heartfelt message to the club.
