Rangers have launched another bid to land Swansea City attacker Morgan Whittaker according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer guru insists Michael Beale is not done with his pursuit of the Englishman, after former Rangers defender Russell Martin's side reportedly knocked back two approaches from Glasgow. Whittaker was recalled from his loan at Plymouth Argyle this month and left out of Martin's squad for crucial games due to personal reasons.
Beale confirmed his interest in the 22-year-old this month as he recruited from the English Championship with the signing of Todd Cantwell from Norwich but is looking to further bolster options. Now according to Romano a THIRD bid has been launched to the Swans for the forward in the region of £2m.
He said on Twitter: "Understand Rangers have returned with new official bid for Morgan Whittaker. The proposal is in the region of £2m. It’s up to Swansea again after two bids already rejected for talented winger."
Beale said in his press conference on Friday: "It's not true we have signed a pre-contract with anyone, we are busy working in the background. There are plans in place for signings and lots of noise around one or two."
Martin said this month: "We have rejected an offer from them [Rangers], that's it. No-one is selling anyone on the cheap - they are good players. We will just have to wait and see. It's not my remit - I don't value the players, I don't negotiate with the other clubs."
Rangers also seem to be in bidding battle for Standard Liege man Nicolas Raskin with reports suggesting an offer around £500,000 was rejected by the Belgian outfit this week. Raskin had been a target under Gio Van Bronckhorst and it appears Michael Beale has continued the interest with reports suggesting a medical and terms had already been completed.
