Morgan Gibbs-White sends Conor Coady three-word message following Everton transfer

Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has sent Conor Coady a heartfelt message following the announcement of his switch to Everton, which ended his seven-year stay at Wolves.

The 29-year-old defender made the move to the Midlands in 2015 from Huddersfield Town and quickly became a fans' favourite at Molineux as he captained the club's return to the Premier League and led them to the final eight of the Europa League in 2020. However, the former Liverpool defender made the switch back to Merseyside on Monday evening in a bid to increase his game time with this summer's World Cup on the horizon.

Taking to social media following the announcement of his initial season-long loan to the Blues, which includes the option for Everton to make it permanent next summer, Coady thanked the Wolves supporters for "everything".

"Where do I start, 7 of the best years I’ve got to share with you all, it’s been a journey that will live with me forever," wrote Coady to his 114,000 followers. "From the middle of the Championship to walking the boys out in a European quarter-final, this club has been mine and my family’s life and we will never forget it.

"Thank you to everyone who makes the club what it is and every player I shared the dressing room with! This club is special and always will be special. Thank you for everything, I’ll always be a wolf.”

That prompted a collection of comments from those who Coady had shared a dressing room with during his time at the club, with Fabio Silva and Ruben Neves just two of those to comment. However, it was a comment from midfielder Gibbs-White that sparked plenty of discussion given that the midfielder has been linked with a move to Goodison Park this summer.

“BRB [be right back] just crying," Gibbs-White posted on his former skipper's farewell post.

Everton had reportedly been interested in a move for the 22-year-old earlier this summer, with the Toffees' new director of football Kevin Thelwell said to be keen on reuniting with the player he had worked with during his time at Wolves between 2016 and 2019.
