Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has revealed Steve Cooper’s angry reaction following last week’s loss against Brentford.
The Reds were on their way to what would have been three big points in the race against relegation this season. A Danilo goal just before half time had put Forest 1-0 up.
That is how the score stayed until Ivan Toney’s free kick found the back of the net in the 82nd minute to draw Brentford level. Things got worse for Forest in stoppage time when Josh Dasilva struck in the 94th minute to take all three points for Brentford and condemn Forest to a difficult loss.

The result meant that the Premier League clash between Leicester City and Everton would leave Forest in the bottom three at the end of last weekend. A draw between the two lifted Leicester above Forest on goal difference.
Gibbs-White, who played the full 90 minutes of the game at the Gtech Community Stadium, has now given an insight into the dressing room and the post-match team talk from Cooper in the minutes after the game. The midfielder also revealed how the squad reacted.
“The first ever time I’ve seen him lose it is after the Brentford game just gone and we all looked at each other like ‘wow’,” he told SoccerAM. “We did not expect it at all because he’s not the type of manager to come in after a game and go mad and lose his way.
“But, for me, I liked it, he showed passion, because normally he will reflect on the game first and then come in the next day and speak about it on a more calm level. It was nice to see, it wasn’t nice to hear, obviously, but it’s part of football.”
Forest will look to bounce back from the disappointment of the loss against Brentford when they take on Southampton at the City Ground on Monday night. The Saints are bottom of the league, six points adrift of safety.
