Morgan Gibbs-White receives Man City response amid 'big' Nottingham Forest claim

Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has been congratulated by Phil Foden and some of his Reds teammates after reaching the Under-21 Euros final with England.

The Young Lions beat Israel 3-0 in the semi-finals on Wednesday, with Gibbs-White opening the scoring. The 23-year-old will now be part of the team that faces Spain in the final on Saturday.

Taking to Instagram after the match, Gibbs-White posted some photos of himself from the semi-final, with the caption: "90 minutes away from history! Finalists!"

He was congratulated in the comments section by Man City star Phil Foden, who said: "What a player," with a heart-eyed emoji. Forest teammate Brennan Johnson called him a 'big player', while Danilo, Taiwo Awoniyi and Giulian Biancone were among those to drop emojis in the comments praising Gibbs-White.

Speaking about his thoughts after the match, Gibbs-White said: "It's hard to put into words. We've been working for the past two years just to get to this moment.

"It's not an achievement yet, we still have loads of work to do. I feel like we have a good together team and the right team that can go all the way."

He added: "I feel confident. Obviously there's always room to improve. My main role for the team is just to try and help the team as much as possible on and off the ball. I feel like assists have been a big part of my game this season and I've carried that into the tournament. It's just about trying to get more goals now. Full focus is on Saturday and just the team."
