Morgan Gibbs-White joins Nottingham Forest craze as January arrival makes mark

Morgan Gibbs-White has been hilariously called out for following the freshest trend that has been circulating the Nottingham Forest dressing room.

The arrival of Gustavo Scarpa already appears to have made a huge impact on the players and the fanbase. The Brazilian may have recorded 28 goal involvements in his final year with Palmerias but it’s his hobbies away from the pitch that have caught the most attention. Scarpa had scouted out skateparks long before he made the move to Nottingham and also has a love for Rubik’s cubes, with his personal record for solving one standing at 27 seconds. It is the latter that appears to have begun a craze throughout the Forest squad, with Gibbs-White among them.

The attacking midfielder was filmed by Brennan Johnson attempting to solve a Rubik’s cube in the changing room, who posted the clip on his Instagram story with the caption: “Been there for two hours.” The video was then shared among fans and led to a hilarious response from Gibbs-White’s girlfriend Britney De Villiers on Twitter.

She wrote: “Sorry to bait him out but he sits at the table for hours everyday watching YouTube tutorials on how to complete it and he hasn’t completed it once in almost a week. Bless him hahaha”

Gibbs-White may be struggling to replicate Scarpa’s impressive record but the club’s latest arrival is clearly having an effect on his new teammates. The Brazil international made his debut as a substitute in the win over Southampton and was handed his first start in the FA Cup against Blackpool.

When asked in November if he would be able to continue skating in England, Scarpa said : “An indoor park? I already found one in Nottingham. Now, outdoor park, on the street, it will be a little difficult because of the weather, it rains practically every day. But, we adapt, we dig.

“I’m a guy who looks too much for the things I like to do, that I want to do. But there’s still a Rubik’s cube, drums, a lot of things I can do to occupy myself there.”
