Married couples-to-be have been jilted after a wedding venue suddenly closed without warning.
More than 40 nuptials have seen plans for their dream big day in tatters as the hotel they booked on the Greek island of Kos, which was booked through TUI, appeared to disappear online.
Holiday Village Atlantica's site and social media pages vanished, leaving bride and grooms panicking.
According to brides, the hotel was bought by new owners and has been renamed, whilst no longer taking bookings through third parties.
Couples have been heartbroken after being told their booking was now 'void' and are demanding answers.
Two brides whose dreams for the Greek location were dashed have told of feeling "stressed and frustrated" having received no word from TUI for "weeks" on whether their big day can now go ahead.
N ursery manager Danielle Connor, 27, is due to get married in May next year to partner Rhydian, with plans for 50-60 wedding guests to join them on their special day.
Danielle, from Caerphilly, Wales, said the couple had already spent £5,000 for their wedding at the hotel.
Having been together for over a decade, she said they had had high hopes on getting married on their eleventh anniversary in Kos.
"We've known for a while we wanted our wedding to be abroad," she told Wales Online.
"We booked the wedding with TUI back in November of last year, it was so exciting.
"We were supposed to have a virtual meeting with the wedding organising team in November of this year.
"But we had no correspondence from them at all. At that point, we kind of knew that something was not right. We noticed on Google that the hotel said it was permanently closed.
"I contacted the TUI store and they reassured me that it was due to the winter period that they were closed.
"But it wasn't even allowing any other of my guests to log on and book at the hotel. That's when I started to get really concerned."
Emily Dabinett and her partner Oli also booked the idyllic location as their venue for their big day in October next year.
The couple from Welshpool were left in the lurch after attempting to book for one of Emily's friends to join them at the hotel in November, only to find the website had disappeared.
"We then found the hotelier on Facebook and asked if they could help us," she explained. "They basically said that their contracts with TUI had ended and all the bookings were void."
The couple had opted for a "chilled out" beach wedding, and took out expensive insurance policies specifically so that elderly relatives could join them.
After noticing the hotel's website was down, Emily called the travel agents they had booked the hotel through who told them they were "just negotiating contracts".
Turning to their wedding planner, the couple are still waiting to find out if the day can go ahead at all.
Both Danielle and Emily found each other online, alongside over 40 other brides, who found themselves in a similar situation.
The brides say they have "all been told different things" by TUI but overall have had "no communications, meetings or clarification" from the travel and tourism company.
As a result, Danielle said that she has been left "frustrated" and "in the dark" about her future wedding.
"We are worried now with where our money is going, obviously with Christmas and cost of living crisis, it is a huge concern," she said.
"I just want some information, I want to know where I’m getting married. I feel in the dark with everything and it’s just frustrating. I just want Christmas to come, to feel all excited and just know where I stand.
"My fiancé is very frustrated, we’ve considered cancelling the wedding full stop because we initially booked the wedding abroad as we thought it would be easy and stress-free, it has been everything but."
Emily is also looking for answers saying she had "gone past the point of caring".
"A part of me just doesn’t want to get married anymore, I just want to know what’s happening and get my money back."
In response, a spokesperson for TUI has said that they are aware of the speculation around the weddings set to take place in the summer of 2023 and are prioritising their wedding bookings.
They noted that all those that have booked weddings through TUI with the previous venue will go ahead at a different venue.
In a statement, a spokesperson for TUI said: "We’re aware of customer speculation over summer 2023 weddings to Holiday Village Atlantica Kos.
"It’s correct that the hotel is currently off sale, however we can now confirm that we will be launching a new Holiday Village in Kos.
"We know how important weddings are to our customers and we want to reassure all those who have booked weddings through TUI to the Holiday Village Atlantica that both the holiday and wedding will go ahead on the dates booked in our new Holiday Village."
