Hundreds of homes across Greater Manchester are without electricity following two power cuts in the region. More than 1,300 properties have been affected in total, affecting residents in parts of Manchester, Trafford and Rochdale.
The largest of the two power cuts has taken place in Hulme and Stretford. A total of 1,287 properties are without power in the M15 and M16 postcode areas.
Electricity North West says the power cut is due to an 'unexpected incident' on a high-voltage cable providing electricity in the area. A post on the company's website says: "We didn't know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible."

The power cut was first reported shortly after 7.35pm this evening (July 8). Electricity North West says engineers are on their way to the scene, and the firm hopes to restore power by 10.36pm.
Meanwhile, 90 properties are also without power in Smallbridge and Firgrove, Rochdale. Residents in a number of OL12 and OL15 postcodes have been hit.
Electricity North West engineers are on site to restore power, following an 'unexpected incident' on an underground cable. Further details on both power cuts, and a full list of the postcodes affected, can be found here.
