The highly anticipated second season of Ryan Murphy's Monsters series is set to debut on Netflix on September 19. Titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, this installment follows the true-crime anthology series' successful first season, which focused on the infamous case of Jeffrey Dahmer.

The upcoming season will delve into the real-life story of brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were convicted in 1996 for the brutal murders of their parents, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez. The series explores the brothers' claims of enduring years of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at the hands of their parents, shedding light on the complexities of their case.

The cast includes Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch as the Menendez brothers, with Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny portraying their parents. Nathan Lane takes on the role of investigative journalist Dominick Dunne, while Ari Graynor plays criminal defense attorney Leslie Abramson.

The Menendez case captivated the public in the early 1990s, and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story adds a fresh perspective to the narrative. The series joins a list of previous adaptations of the case, including TV movies, documentaries, and other true-crime series.

Executive produced by a talented team including Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, and David McMillan, the series is helmed by creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. With a stellar cast and a compelling storyline, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story promises to captivate audiences and spark conversations about the nature of true crime and the concept of 'monsters' in society.
