At last, Phuket gets its own official edition of Monopoly, which will be launched at Central Phuket, the only shopping centre in Asia chosen to be included in the board game, on Saturday at 10am.
Held to promote tourism in Thailand and tourist attractions in Phuket, the launch of Monopoly: Phuket Edition will see a giant replica of the board game, measuring 5m by 5m, for interested visitors to play with Mr Monopoly.
Produced by Winning Moves under official licence from Hasbro, this version of Monopoly includes 22 prominent tourist destinations in Phuket including Sarasin Bridge, Kata Beach, Promthep Cap, and Central Phuket Floresta.
The game will replace the traditional streets on the squares with the things to do around the island, such as the beaches and activities, restaurants and hotels, through to the main attractions.
Everyone is invited to discover what else among the province's iconic locations and hidden gems will appear on the board game, which promises to showcase the best that the "Pearl of the Andaman" has to offer.
The launch event will be held at the Atrium, 1st floor Central Phuket Floresta, under stringent safety and cleanliness measures. The game will then be widely available throughout the island as well as on Amazon.
