In these tough times, we’re all searching high and low for a bargain - and while there's only so much we can do as consumers to keep food and energy costs down, every little helps when it comes to clever money-saving hacks. That’s why people are going crazy for this easy Nando’s meal hack that allows you to purchase a full meal and a drink for less than £6. And unlike previous cheap meal hacks that often involve ordering all your fillings separately and building your own food, this one is easier that you might think.
A TikTok user who goes by username @allykhanx showed that by ordering from the kids menu, or ‘Nandinos’ menu, you can get a main, two sides and either a dessert or drink from Nando’s for just £5.95. But there's no measly, kid-sizes portions here - as in her video, the woman reveals a full size burger and healthy serving of fries and rice on the side, plus a drink - saving her £9 compared to the adult's menu.
Shocked that they have never thought of doing this before, people are flooding the comments section of the viral video - which now has over 2.6 million views - to share their delight at this wonderful life hack.
One user said: "As soon as I get back from holiday I’m getting this! You’re a legend."
Another commented: "I know where I am going for lunch tomorrow."
Some people are even claiming the kids meal tastes better than the regular adult meal because of the type of bread they use:
"The kids bun is a brioche bun too, it's way better than the crusty bun they do on the adults menu," someone said.
Nando’s employees are also jumping in to the comments and claiming that they’ve been doing this for years.
One Nando's manager even revealed that when ordering a kids meal, you get the same amount of food as when ordering an adults meal, with only one difference.
They said: "I'm a Nando's manager. Btw, the only difference between this and a normal burger, is the bun, same amount of meat, tomato and lettuce."
Plus, another employee reassured people that they won’t be refused a kid’s meal if they’re over the age of 10: "As a Nando’s worker we will never say you can’t have a kids meal even if it’s for you!!"
Others are also sharing hacks for different restaurants too including Leon, Wagamama's and Wetherspoons, where you can also order off the kid’s menu for a cheaper, better value meal.
