Gardai were questioning a man last night after a filling station was badly damaged in a bizarre attack.
It is understood a digger was used to carry out the damage early yesterday morning.
These photos show how badly the Top station just outside Carrickmacross was damaged in the attack – with the forecourt and the shop both being targeted.

Sources have told gardai they do not believe anything was stolen in the incident and it is not suspected robbery was a motive.
Instead, sources said the incident was being treated as a case of criminal damage. Gardai were trying to establish a motive last night.
A spokesman said: “Gardai have arrested a male, aged in his 50s, in relation to an incident of criminal damage at a retail premises in Cloughvalley Upper.
“Significant damage was caused to the foreground and the exterior of the premises in the course of this incident. Investigations are ongoing.”
