Monaco have slapped in an official complaint to UEFA after their entire party was woken up at 4am before they played Rangers' Champions League opponents PSV Eindhoven by Dutch fans letting off fireworks outside their hotel. The Dutch side defeated the Ligue 1 outfit after extra time to go through to a winner-takes-all clash with Rangers in the play-off round.
But Rangers have been given a warning of what to expect by the antics of the Young Ultras Eindhoven, who even posted the early morning fireworks show outside the Monaco hotel on their social media page. Monaco complained that the display was so loud, it woke up every single member of their playing party and severely disrupted their preparation.
And they were so outraged by their action, that they have made a complaint to European football's governing body, who are investigating whether they hold the Eindhoven club responsible.
Meanwhile, PSV have been boosted after key Mexican international midfielder Erick Gutierrez signed an extension to his contract. The 27-year-old has been at the club for five years and will now be at PSV until 2025 at least.
