Two thieves dressed in black "ram raided" a jewellery store as shoppers on a busy street helplessly looked on.
A jewellery store on a busy street was "ram raided" and a quantity of jewellery was stolen from the front window display. Merseyside Police was contacted following reports a car had deliberately rammed the front of Ramsdens on Prescot Road, Old Swan at around 1.45pm on Thursday, October 6.
Two men dressed in black, covering their faces and carrying rucksacks, are reported to have exited the black car and grabbed a quantity of jewellery from the front window display. They then fled the scene in a car which an eyewitness said was "wrecked".

Another eyewitness said "smoke was pouring out the shop". The ECHO understands the fire service also attended the incident. Images taken by the ECHO at the scene just hours after the incident showed a smashed front window and debris littering the floor. Nobody is believed to have been injured during the incident.
New footage shared with the ECHO shows the men picking up trays of jewellery and putting them into the back of the car. As the second man climbs through the damaged window a jet of smoke erupts around him. The man quickly picks up his rucksack and runs back to the car. Loud horns can be heard in the background from drivers passing the robbery.
A cordon was put up around the shop by Merseyside Police and officers remained at the scene. An investigation was subsequently launched with CCTV and witness enquiries being carried out in the local area.
The ECHO has approached Ramsdens for comment.
