Moment police swoop to arrest suspect in Elle Edwards murder probe

Drone footage shows the moment Merseyside Police arrested a suspect in the murder investigation over the death of Elle Edwards.

Police released the footage on Thursday afternoon (December 29), showing police vehicles surrounding a residential street as they arrested a suspect in the investigation, which follows the shooting of Elle, 26, on Christmas Eve. The footage shows officers arriving at the property and approaching the front door of a house.

In a second clip officers can be seen at the back of the home appearing to run down an alleyway. In a third, officers can be seen guiding a person into a police car outside.

Police confirmed three people have been arrested in connection with the 26-year-old's murder. A 30-year-old man from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. A 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

A 31-year-old man from Tranmere has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. All three suspects remain in custody for questioning. Elle was enjoying a night out with friends and her sister on Christmas Eve, when she was shot in the head in the Lighthouse pub, in Wallasey Village.

Police have confirmed Elle was not believed to have been the intended target of the shooting, during which four men were also injured.
