Moment hundreds of scooters take over East Lancs Road in procession

Video footage has captured the moment hundreds of scooters rode down East Lancs Road in procession earlier today.

Drivers from the Salford Knights scooter club travelled from Wigan to Salford as part of the planned ride-out from the Lancashire Scooter Alliance.

The ride got underway shortly after 12.30pm on Sunday (July 9) at Leigh Sports Village. The drivers then made their way to their destination of Winton Social Club in Eccles by travelling through Warrington Road, Manchester Road, the AJ Bell Stadium, Salford Western, Trafford Way and through Patricroft.

The ride-out comes just a few days after a similar event from the Lancashire Scooter Alliance, which saw a procession of drivers make their way through Liverpool on Wednesday evening (July 5).

Video from Manchester’s event today saw hundreds of drivers wearing leather jackets, high viz jackets and other driving attire as they safely made their way down the East Lancs Road in unison.

Founded in 1982, the Salford Knights is described as being a ‘friendly, rally-going club that welcomes all scooter riders of all ages and experience, old or new’. The club meets every Thursday at the Winton Social Club.

The Salford Knights are also set to appear at the Big 7 National Scooter Rally in West Sussex next week alongside the Rally on Regardless 4 event in Tattenhall in August.
