Moment ex-Pakistan star gets last laugh in bitter swearing row vs Australian rival

Former Pakistan bowler Sohail Tanvir was involved in a heated spat with ex-Australia all-rounder Ben Cutting during a Pakistan Super League game between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.

Towards the end of Peshawar's innings, Cutting and Tanvir both swore at each other, with the pair's row dating back almost four years.

During a Caribbean Premier League match between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Guyana Amazon Warriors, Tanvir did not take kindly to getting smashed for a huge six by Cutting.

When Tanvir bowled the Australian the next ball, he gave the middle-finger with both hands and was later fined 15% of his match fee.

Four years on from that incident, Cutting had clearly not forgotten Tanvir's gesture and returned the favour when he struck him for four sixes in one over.

Following the gesture, the pair had a heated exchange in the middle and, although Tanvir did not bowl to Cutting again during the match, it did not end there.

In the final over of Peshawar's innings, Cutting miscued a pull shot off Naseem Shah and was promptly caught at short third man by none other than Tanvir.

Unsurprisingly, Tanvir celebrated his catch by giving Cutting the middle-finger once again.

Although he may have ended up getting the last laugh in their personal battle, Cutting's side ultimately won the match.

The 35-year-old smashed an explosive 36 off just 14 balls at the death to push Peshawar up to a total of 185-7.

In response, Quetta only managed 161-8, falling to a 24-run defeat despite an outstanding innings of 99 by 20-year-old England prospect Will Smeed.

The victory was Peshawar's fourth of the season so far and leaves them in fourth place with eight points, keeping their hopes of qualifying for the play-offs alive.

Quetta, meanwhile, sit one place below Peshawar on six points and need to comfortably win their remaining two matches in order to qualify.
