Two Emmerdale legends were brought to tears when they reunited on a special show celebrating the soap’s 50th anniversary.
Prior to the soap’s 50th-anniversary episode, ITV screened Emmerdale - 50 Unforgettable Years which featured appearances by current and former cast members. Arguably, one of the most emotional moments came when Charlie Hardwick, who played Val Pollard, surprised former colleague Chris Chittell who, of course, plays Eric Pollard.
As fans know, the character of Val died in 2015 but she did reappear as a ghost in 2017. Charlie surprised her former work husband with the pair brought to tears rewatching their emotional last scene together.

When Chris was initially surprised, he said: “Oh bugger!” Before apologising.
Charlie then teased Chris by saying: “I hate seeing you cry. You big baby!” Viewers then saw Charlie explain: “We just clicked like Morecombe and Wise, Little and Large.
“Two fiendish, narcissist characters seemed to work together.” Fans took to Twitter to show their delight at the reunion.
