Drivers have been urged to stay ‘road safe’ after a motorist was spotted getting out of his car in the middle of the M6 to adjust his door mirror.
The driver was seen adjusting his mirror within the M6 junction 21a to junction 26 motorway upgrade construction zone.
The unknown motorist was in lane three of the roadworks zone when they got out of their vehicle to adjust their mirror.

The moment was captured by National Highways’ dedicated roadworks team which uses CCTV to monitor traffic, helping to keep drivers safe while vital upgrades to the network are being completed.
National Highways say the M6 smart motorway upgrade, which runs between Warrington and Wigan, is now more than 50 per cent complete after major works began last March.
More than 120,000 vehicles are estimated to use the specific section of the M6 every day, but National Highways say drivers could be doing a lot more to help themselves.
Dave Cooke, project manager at National Highways, said: “No-one wants to break down or run out of petrol on the motorway, let alone doing so within the confined space of a construction zone with narrow lanes.
“The driver we spotted stopping to adjust his door mirror in lane three of our roadworks is an extreme example of someone needlessly putting themselves at risk but all drivers should exercise extra awareness and caution driving through motorway roadworks.
“This includes making sure they have enough fuel for journeys and keeping their vehicle well maintained with regular checks of things like tyres.”
Once complete, the M6 roadworks project will cover a ten mile stretch and will replace a steel restraint system with a concrete barrier to help increase road safety and reduce maintenance.
It will also add new electronic signs, CCTV cameras, radar detectors and a lane in each direction, backed by new technology, with the aim of providing more reliable journeys for everyone.
The central reservation along the northern section of the upgraded route re-opened last month.
