A child was seen plummetting more than 30 feet into a cavernous gorge after the zip line he was riding snapped.
The six-year-old boy was enjoying the extreme activity at the Fundidora Park in Nueva León, Mexico when disaster struck.
The incident was caught on a video which has since gone viral - which shows the youngster jumping off the zip line as a man rushes behind him.
But they hadn't picked up enough momentum and both of them were seen slowing down as they zipped along the wire.
Eventually, they came to a stop around halfway along the line.
When they do, the youngster drops from the zip line into the gaping chasm - which has been estimated to be around 40ft deep.
As he drops, a woman can be heard wailing in terror.
Thankfully, there was a lake waiting to catch him below, which would have been around 20-22ft deep.
The young boy, who has not been named, was rescued from the water by emergency responders who later ascertained that the harness had ripped.
The family later left the scene, refusing a hospital checkup, after seeing that the child was relatively unharmed, according to local media.
The park, which is located in the Mexican city of Monterrey, has not commented on the incident or revealed any further information.

Sergio, from Belem, Para state, was on holiday when the accident took place.
Emergency workers scrambled the scene and rushed Sergio to hospital.
But despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
