Moment 'awestruck' Bayern Munich players experience Celtic Park Champions League roar

Celtic supporters reckon Bayern Munich players looked "awestruck" at the roar for the Champions League theme last night.

The legendary roar goes up at Celtic Park when the players line-up for the anthem ahead of kick-off in the UEFA competition.

Previously, footage showed opposition players stunned as the volume was cranked up by supporters inside Celtic Park.

On Wednesday night, it was Bayern Munich players who experienced the spine-tingling roar before kick-off.

Celtic supporters had first taken part in the traditional rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone before the players emerged from the tunnel to a huge response.

And supporters reckon the star-studded Bayern Munich squad even felt some nerves in the red-hot Parkhead atmosphere.

A short clip on social media shows the Bayern Munich players look around the stadium as the roar goes up with Leroy Sane and Michael Olise exchanging a look at the spectacle.

One commenter added: "Sane reaction is like holy f***". Another simply wrote: "Amazing".

Bayern boss Vincent Kompany was thrilled to take a lead to the Allianz Arena for the second leg as he hailed the intense atmosphere in Glasgow.

“It is cliched to say, but it is the first half of the game. Overall, I think it is a really good result. I don’t think fans have seen many losses, especially at this place. We are at home now and we will look to play on that.

“I know this place. I know it transcends performance sometimes. I thought we dealt really well with it for long spells of the game. We didn’t go crazy. Then in the last 10 minutes we defended well.
