Molly’s Bar owner thanks customers after picking up date night award

Molly’s Bar owner Damian Hanna has thanked the Co Fermanagh public who voted to make it Fermanagh’s Favourite Date Night Spot.

The Irvinestown venue came out on top as part of our Fermanagh Loves campaign aiming to showcase the best of local businesses in the county.

After a close vote with many other romantic spots around the county battling it out, Molly’s emerged as the victor.

Speaking to MyFermanagh after receiving a framed certificate to highlight the achievement, Damian said it was particularly special to pick up the award as it was voted for by customers.

“We’re delighted to be nominated and to have won Fermanagh’s favourite date night spot,” Damian said.

“There was big opposition among the other nominees, so for a town like Irvinestown and ourselves to come out on top it’s brilliant, it means a lot.

“It was the people of Fermanagh that voted for us, people that have obviously come in here and enjoyed it.

“And they have shown it through voting for us so we are just over the moon.

Damian said an emphasis on good food has helped to make Molly's the go-to spot for couples in the area.

“Myself and my wife took this place over 15 years ago and we saw that food was the way to go.

“We like to class ourselves not as bar food but as a step up from that.

“It can be long hours and all of that but wee things like this make it all the more worthwhile.

“I’d like to say a big thank you for the continued support of local people, particularly through all the lockdowns they have stuck by us and we are humbled by that support.”
