CBBC star Molly Rainford is announced as tenth Strictly Come Dancing star for 2022 series

Molly Rainford has been confirmed as the tenth star joining Strictly Come Dancing 2022.

The BBC One show is back again for a brand new series, with another set of famous faces trading their usual day jobs to take to the dance floor. So far, the likes of Loose Women star Kaye Adams, Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps' comedian Will Mellor have all signed up for the 2022 series.

Molly was a singer on the sixth series of Britain's Got Talent. In her audition, she performed a stunning rendition of 'One Night Only' by Jennifer Hudson, with her voice at just 11-years-old leaving fans - and the judges - stunned.

She has also since had her own CBBC show, Nova Jones, where she plays an eighteen-year-old pop star who performs in space.

Ahead of Molly's announcement, Ted Lasso star Ellie Taylor was the latest to sign up to the show, with the announcement being made during ITV's Lorraine yesterday. Ranvir Singh - who's been on the show herself - was on hand to quiz Ellie about her stint.

"I want someone who's patient. I need a tall, patient person," she said of her ideal Strictly partner, "The dancing bit is what is completely out of my comfort zone. I've watched the show for years so to be able to take to the dance floor is a dream come true, for both me and mum who is a Strictly super fan. At the moment I'm focusing on the excitement and glitter and choosing to ignore the fact that I have the dancing ability of a newly born giraffe. Bring it on!"

Elsewhere, Bros legend Matt Goss has signed up for the upcoming series and during a chat on This Morning, he confessed he was really "excited" to head back to the show after taking part in the Christmas special.

He said: "I’m excited, I’m nervous. You have the conversation and then you go about your day and you think, ‘I’ve got to dance.’ I’m eating everything that’s favourable to Spandex. I’ve got to make sure it’s alright, I’m excited."

"I’ve been almost reclusive. I come in [to the country], I work and go back to America. I just thought, ‘You know what, it’s time for me to come home, just do something completely out of my comfort zone.' I’m quite shy off stage. I just have to face all those demons and just learn," he added of his return to the UK.

Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh admitted she had been asked to go on the show for some time, but finally felt it was right for her to do and was "delighted" to be joining the BBC show later this year.
