A number of people noticed McGregor's escape was similar to when he beat Chad Mendes back in 2015.

Molly McCann commented underneath the video, saying: "The chad mendes escape at the end. Jjeeezzeeee"

While McGregor's coach John Kavangh said: "The heartbreaker"

And Marcus Deegan added: "I’ve seen that tasty move successfully executed in fine form before 2015 LAS VEGAS Mini Mendez! Still on of my top 3 favorite fights ! #gobigpresser #givehimawrestler"

And UFC boss Dana White has hinted when we could see McGregor either later this year or early in 2023.

He told TMZ: "I think he's getting better. He's starting to ramp up his training, and I'm hoping the end of this year, early next year.

"I really like Mike Chandler vs Conor after Chandler's last fight. There's plenty of fights to make. I don't know if that's the one. We'll see what the landscape looks like when Conor gets back.

"I'm just saying after his last [Octagon] interview, his last fight, Conor's ranked number 8. [Michael's] ranked number 5. It makes a lot of sense right now."
