Molly-Mae Hague to bring out PLT documentary after backlash over Creative Director role

Molly-Mae Hague is bringing out her own documentary about PrettyLittleThing - despite all the backlash she has received since becoming Creative Director of the fast-fashion brand.

The former Love Island star, 22, landed the high-profile role at PLT last year, but she has been heavily criticised by fans since taking it on.

She was accused of being "tone deaf" for comments on wealth inequality and insisted she only wanted to "inspire" her fans.

Others have also begged Molly-Mae to use her new role as the chance to make changes to how much garment workers make - as the brand has been accused of paying staff £3.50 an hour.

On Wednesday night, Molly-Mae put her mark on her high-profile role with a catwalk extravaganza at London Fashion Week - an event she had worked on for six months.

She said it was the biggest moment of her life and that she had worked around the clock to get things just right.

Friends including Maura Higgins attended the event to see what Molly-Mae has been working on over the last year.

And now, she is set to take fans behind-the-scenes at PLT HQ with her upcoming documentary.

She said: "PrettyLittleThing is such a young and current business, we want girls to feel like they're a part of the brand and the family."

In recent days, the influencer laughed off claims her Creative Director role is a walk in the park and says her 13-hour days prove her commitment.

Some pointed fingers and questioned how hands-on Molly would be in the seven-figure job.

But she told The Mirror anyone thinking she opens her laptop late in the afternoon after a day doing nothing couldn't be more wide of the mark.

She set the record straight after some social media jabs poking fun at the Creative Director role and outlined exactly the lengths she goes to - and she is taking it very seriously.

"It's hard to explain what a day looks like really," she added. "One day I'll be in at 9am and not leave until 10pm!

"I have just been in all day on Sunday, it doesn't stop - and we have about 20 WhatsApp group chats that are pinging off 24/7, honestly!

"I have had to mute a few. Then I get a message saying 'Molly, you haven't replied in the group for about two days.. get back on it'.

"I'll be sending messages at 2am 'I've just been thinking about this....' At night my creative juices are really flowing so I have to tell someone!"

But she make sure she gets her down time.

"I have definitely worked hard but when I have a day off, I really have a day off!" she said.
