Molly-Mae Hague's huge PLT U-turn as true extent of Creative Director role exposed

Molly-Mae Hague has been the Creative Director for Pretty Little Thing for a little under a year and has been questioned about it many times.

The Love Island star became embroiled in a scandal by being associated with the brand due to the fact that it was exposed by the Sunday Times 2020 of paying factory worker staff below minimum wage – while the company itself is said to be worth £316 million.

Some pointed fingers and questioned how hands-on Molly would be in the seven-figure job, with the star shutting down the claims by saying she works hard.

During an interview with The Sunday Times Magazine, Molly-Mae was questioned about what she does in her director role of the fast-fashion brand.

However, her manager Fran Britton butted in to stop the interviewer from continuing with that line of questioning.

“However, at this point, her manager, Fran Britton — who is on the call and every bit as aggressively glamorous as her client — jumps in," the magazine stated.

They then quote Fran saying: "That’s a big misconception with the role, that people think she’s involved in all aspects of the business. And that isn’t the case."

The manager claims that the former reality star simply provides a 'creative vision' for the brand.

In previous interviews, Molly-Mae insisted she worked long hours and did things to the 'best of her ability' when it came to PLT's runway show.

"I have been working with PLT for the past three years and I almost sort of naturally developed more of a lead in the business," she told the Mirror previously.

"I think that they knew through my other collections that I could control things, and implement what was needed in the brand."

She also explained that some days see her working in the office or warehouse for 13 hours straight.

During an interview with heat in August last year, she said all her collections are 'controlled by her'.

She explained: "PLT do collections with other girls but for me, I was taking the lead with [my collections], everything was controlled by me. I approved everything.

"So I think they knew - from how I work with my own collections - that I could implement it through the brand and have creative input."

Besides being the Creative Director for PLT, she is also an Influencer, a YouTuber, and she runs her own fake tan business called Filter.

The TV personality, who came second on Love Island during her season, stays booked and busy and constantly shares sneak previews of each project she works on.
