Molly-Mae Hague's changing look - 'underweight' spin teacher to real hair and surgery

We've all got a cringe throwback or 100 in the vaults, and natural stunner Molly-Mae Hague has never been shy about sharing hers.

The self-made Love Island millionaire - whose book My Story: Becoming Molly-Mae is out today - has been on a real journey with her image, morphing from a ringlet-haired Irish dancer into a Frankie Bridge wannabe, complete with brunette crop.

A cherubic child, Molly once wore her natural honey blonde curls long and loose before getting it all chopped off in homage to her Saturdays star idol.

And before making it as an influencer and TV star, she was training to become a spin instructor - but quit the profession over concerns about the impact it was having on her weight.

Uploading a throwback of herself in exercise gear, the TV star once told her fans: "When I was training to be a spinning instructor... Underweight and on a path that wasn't right for me."

Luckily for Molly, life had a different path in store. At 16 she was crowned Miss Teen Herfordshire and that same year she landed her first ever paid Instagram post, earning £25.

Twelve months later she was named World Teen Supermodel and found her calling as a bona fide influencer with more than 10,000 YouTube subscribers and 100,000 Instagram followers.

She relocated to Manchester to grow her brand, and by the time she entered Love Island, she was already one of the show's top earners.

But with increasing fame comes increasing pressure, and Molly was all of 18 when she turned to fillers and got caught in a 'vicious cycle'.

Things came to a head after Love Island in 2019, when she travelled to Los Angeles for cheek, jaw and lip fillers and filmed a vlog for fans whilst still swollen.

Cruel trolls compared her face to an X Box controller and a screenshot from the video went viral - prompting Molly to make a change.

"It looked horrendous. Someone took a screenshot from that video and it went viral. 'What's Molly done to her face?' was the response. I was mortified," she writes in her new book.

"The reality was that my once-sharp jawline had jowls hanging underneath, my lips felt lumpy, uneven and unnatural.

"I didn't feel prettier. I didn't feel better. Filler had made me feel worse."

Last year, she vowed to return to her natural looks and had her filler dissolved.

As part of her makeover, the Pretty Little Thing designer also had her composite bonded veneers removed.

Molly-Mae admitted she had them done when she was 19 to make her teeth more "white and perfect-looking".

And unveiling her new look in 2021, she said: "I've been really [funny] about showing them. I've barely even shown [boyfriend] Tommy [Fury] properly because I am really not sure about it.

"I am really not sure about it, I don't know how I feel about it so. These are my natural teeth... as you can see, it is a super different smile to my composite bond smile.

"My teeth are a lot smaller and don't fill my mouth as much but yeah, this is the natural me."

The reality star said the composite bonds had left her teeth a bit "yellow" and that she still wasn't sure whether she would stick with her natural teeth.

She went on: "As you can see they are a bit yellow which is kind of disgusting but they haven't been touched for about two years. So they were bound to be. I thought they were going to be much worse than this..."

There was, however, one beautification that Molly couldn't quite bring herself to say goodbye to though, and that's her hair extensions.

She did go for the chop in April 2021, debuting a cute ash blonde lob. But within weeks the extensions were back. Since then, she's continued to experiment with different lengths and styles, explaining that "A different personality comes with each hair length."
