A child molester who covertly filmed women and their daughters using cameras hidden in a water bottle and coat hooks has been jailed.
Dean Gordon, 41 - caught with more than 12,000 indecent images - befriended mothers with young girls in Waltham Forest, east London.
In one case, he recorded himself sexually abusing a female child whilst she sleep.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police executed a search warrant at Gordon’s home in Leytonstone on August 11, 2021.
It took a specialist team three days to search the Rosewood Court property.
Over 200 digital devices were seized, including a water bottle and numerous coat hooks with hidden cameras installed.
In total, Gordon had 12,529 indecent images of children, with over 2,000 of them the most serious Category A.
This included 436 images of several child victims he covertly recorded naked or semi-naked for his own sexual gratification.
A number of youngsters and adult female victims, all known to Gordon, were traced and had no idea they had been secretly recorded by him.
At Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday, Gordon received six years and eight months jail having previously pleaded guilty to three counts of making and ten counts of taking indecent photographs of children, possession of extreme pornographic images and possession of a prohibited image of a child.
He also admitted sexually assaulting a young girl and six counts of voyeurism.
Detective Constable James Cronin, of the Met’s North East’s online child sex abuse and exploitation team, said: “This has been a complex investigation involving specialist officers undertaking countless hours of work to uncover his wrongdoing and locate and assist victims of his abuse.
“The victims, especially the children, have shown incredible bravery by coming forward and sharing their story.
“Anyone who believes they have been a victim of child abuse should contact police on 101 and, as this case demonstrates, we will carry out a thorough investigation and bring perpetrators to justice.”
